The Libby’s label enters the market with one product – corned beef. Libby’s focused on their canned meat business for the next 50 years, becoming a household staple and growing to have over 9,000 employees and canning operations around the world.
Give em’ something sweet…
Canned fruit enters the scene with offerings of California stone fruit; a way for consumers to get “Summertime Fruits – Now!” By the 1940’s, Libby’s added its now lead product pineapple to its collection giving consumers a way to enjoy Hawaiian pineapple any time of year, anywhere.

Libby’s Fruit joins the Niagara Trading Company family in Buffalo, New York. Our small, mighty team travels around the world every year looking for the best fruit possible. Fruit is agriculture, and the landscape and crops are always changing, but we’ve got our finger on the pulse to keep our cans filled with the absolute best.

Libby’s Fruit becomes its own entity separate from veggies and canned meat. The Libby’s Fruit label becomes synonymous with quality fruit & flavor. In the 80’s the famous Libby’s Libby’s Libby’s jingle drops further solidifying Libby’s Fruit as a household name, and differentiates Libby’s fruit from other veggie and pantry staples.
